A few years ago, the idea of a custom truck in Asheville was vague and undefined.  There was the older generation, with their hot rod trucks, big motors, and wide back tires.  There were guys with loud stereos, and others with cool paint or graphics.  The common thread that ran between these people was the desire to be lower than the next.  Influenced by Truckin, Mini Truckin, Street Trucks, and other magazines, people began to modify their trucks to sit low, lay on the ground, and look good doing it.

Out of this came a group of people who wanted more than to just be low.  They wanted the big motors, the loud stereo, and the cool paint and wild graphics, but all in one package.  Custom trucks was more than a hobby - it was a lifestyle.  Through the years, they came together at shows and events, and discovered how much they had in common, but also that they were all from Asheville.

In 2008, this group of guys, headed by the three officers, decided it was time to make not only their interest in trucks public, but to set a standard and raise the bar for those who were truly passionate about doing the same.  The idea of DGI, or Damaged Goods Inc., was born at a party, and through meetings later was molded into what it is today - a club for the future.  With a family atmosphere, a passion for all things custom, and a desire to meet a self-made, exacting standard, Damaged Goods walks into the future with their heads held high and their vehicles freshly washed, sporting a sticker on the back window to be proud of for years to come.
